The Joy of Crafting: Make Your Own Orange Sliced Garland or Buy It Ready-Made
So, I decided to add my personal touch to the holiday vibe last year by making a real orange-sliced garland. It was such a fun project, and my middle school daughter totally got into it, too! We had a blast crafting together. But here’s the thing—while it looked gorgeous and added that festive touch with an organic feel, it only lasted about a month before it started to wither.
I’m really glad I tried it, but this year, I found the ultimate game-changer: a realistic, ready-made orange-sliced garland! It looks just as fabulous and can be used year after year. Plus, this little beauty is perfect for hanging on the mantle, a cabinet, your Christmas tree, or even on the wall!
If you’re all about that effortless chic vibe and want to skip the DIY hassle, you’ll definitely want to check my finds linked here. But hey, if you still want to roll up your sleeves and make your own garland, that’s totally cool too! It’s a great way to involve the kids and create some cherished memories. After slizing your oranges, I baked mine on 250 for about 30 minutes. I used this wire to string them.
To make yourself you will need several oranges, wire, garland, baking pan. You can see a video that I made here.
Cheers this holiday season simple and stylish! If you need help styling your home, you can learn more about my design services here—available both locally in San Antonio, Texas, and virtually!
