Ghoulish Goodness: Spooky Spaghetti and Eyeball Meatballs for Your Halloween Feast
Spooky Halloween Spaghetti Recipe
Tired of the same old Halloween treats? This year, whip up a frightfully fun feast for the whole family with our Creepy Eyeball Spaghetti(Spooky Spaghetti and Eyeball Meatballs)! Packed with flavor and guaranteed to be a hit with little monsters of all ages, this spooky main dish is easy enough for even the most novice chefs (and their sous chefs!) to handle.
Ready to unleash your inner kitchen witch? Let’s get cooking!
Ingredients for Spooky Spaghetti and Eyeball Meatballs:
1 lb ground beef (feel free to substitute with ground turkey or a plant-based alternative)
1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular work well)
2 large eggs
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp parsley flakes (fresh or dried)
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
Parmesan cheese, to taste
2.25 oz canned black olives, sliced (get creative with different shapes!)
16 oz dried spaghetti
16 oz jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce (Rao’s is a delicious choice!)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.
Assemble your mini monsters! In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, olive oil, parsley flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything’s incorporated.
Roll and Shape: Now for the fun part! Form the mixture into 2-inch meatballs. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them for even cooking.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are golden brown and cooked through.
Create the Creepy Eyes: Time to add some spooky flair! Top each meatball with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and a sliced black olive. You can get creative with the olive placement for different eye shapes (think surprised, sleepy, or mischievous!). Pop the tray back in the oven for another 2-3 minutes, just to melt the cheese.
Spaghetti Time! While the meatballs are chilling after their transformation, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Don’t forget to heat up your favorite spaghetti sauce!
Assemble and Devour! Drain the cooked spaghetti and toss it with the warmed sauce. Plate it up, add your creepy eyeball meatballs on top, and garnish with some fresh parsley if desired.
Mom (or Dad) Tip: Want to sneak in some extra veggies? Blend some fresh spinach into your sauce before heating it up. The little monsters will never know the difference!
