There’s something about this time of year that makes me want a cozy fall bedroom. It’s still pretty warm here in San Antonio, but the mornings are finally cooling off, and I’m ready for softer bedding and a few extra layers.
I started designing this client’s bedroom about a year ago, and we finally got everything finished and photographed! She loves how it turned out, and I’m excited to share some of the details.

We chose a beautiful linen wingback bed from Quince, and it’s one of my favorite pieces in the room. I’ve also been sleeping on Quince’s striped linen sheets in my own home since 2024, so I can personally speak to their quality.
Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite Quince finds, along with some simple designer tips for creating that same relaxed, layered look at home.
A few favorite Quince pieces from this look:

For the walls, I love Sherwin-Williams Taupe of the Morning (SW 9590). It’s a beautiful warm neutral that works especially well with natural linen, wood tones, and layered textures.
The good news is you don’t need to completely redecorate your bedroom every season. Sometimes a few small changes make the biggest difference.
For me, a cozy bedroom comes down to three things: texture, softness, and lighting.
When a room feels a little cold or unfinished, it’s usually missing one of those elements.
Here’s the simple formula I use when designing bedrooms:
You don’t have to do everything at once. Even one or two changes can completely change how a room feels.
The bed is usually the largest piece of furniture in a bedroom, so it really sets the tone for the entire space.
For this client, we chose the 100% Linen Wingback Bed from Quince.
I chose this bed because I wanted the room to feel warm and inviting without being too formal. The natural linen adds softness, and the wingback detail gives it that cozy, tucked-in feel without overwhelming the space.
I also love how beautifully the linen works with the warm wood nightstands and other natural textures throughout the room.

Designer tip: If you’re not ready to invest in a new bed, try adding two large Euro shams behind your sleeping pillows. It’s an easy way to create that same soft, layered look without replacing your furniture.
I’ve been sleeping on Quince linen sheets in my own home since 2024, and they’re still some of my favorites.
I love that linen gets softer with washing and doesn’t need to look perfectly pressed. That slightly rumpled look is part of what makes it so beautiful.
For a cozy fall bedroom, I’d start with the Quince European Linen Sheet Set and European Linen Duvet Cover. A warm check, soft ivory, or natural oatmeal tone all work beautifully.
You can always add another blanket or duvet layer when the temperatures drop.

Designer tip: Don’t worry about ironing your linen bedding. A little wrinkle is part of the charm.
Window treatments can make such a difference in how finished a bedroom feels.
This is one of the things I get asked about most, and a lot of it comes down to how you hang them.
A few things I always recommend:
In my client’s bedroom, we layered soft curtains with woven shades. I love combining the two because you get the natural texture of the shades along with the softness of fabric.
I also prefer curtain rings or pleated drapery over a traditional rod pocket. It gives the panels a more tailored, finished look.
And don’t skimp on the width! You want enough fabric so the curtains still look full when they’re closed.
Lighting is one of the easiest ways to make a bedroom feel more inviting.
I almost always prefer lamps over bright overhead lighting in a bedroom, especially in the evening.
A beautiful table lamp adds another layer to the room, even when it’s turned off.

I love the Heritage Ceramic Table Lamp from Quince because of its simple shape and natural finish.

And don’t forget about scent.
For fall and early winter, I tend to gravitate toward something green and woodsy rather than anything too sweet.
The Quince Balsam Fir Candle is a lovely option for this time of year.
I love lighting a candle when I’m winding down in the evening. It’s such a simple little ritual that makes the room feel more relaxing.
One of my favorite finishing touches is a textured throw at the end of the bed.
I don’t like bedding to look too perfect or overly styled. I want it to feel like someone actually lives there.
You can fold a throw loosely across the foot of the bed or simply drape it over one corner.
The Ruched Faux Fur Throw from Quince adds softness and texture without needing to change the rest of your bedding.
A vintage wool or sheepskin lumbar pillow is another easy way to bring in a little warmth and personality.

Designer tip: Try mixing textures rather than adding more patterns. Linen, wool, wood, and a little velvet can make a neutral bedroom feel interesting without making it busy.
I’ve rounded up the Quince pieces I love for creating this look, along with a few extras that would work beautifully in almost any bedroom.
Start with softer lighting and a few textured layers. A comfortable throw, linen bedding, and a warm table lamp can make a noticeable difference without buying new furniture.
I love warm neutrals like ivory, oatmeal, taupe, and toffee, mixed with natural wood tones. You can also bring in muted greens, rust, or deeper browns for a little seasonal color.
Not necessarily! I use linen bedding almost year-round here in San Antonio. Linen is breathable, and when the weather gets colder, I simply add a warmer duvet or an extra blanket.
I generally recommend hanging the rod close to the ceiling rather than directly above the window frame. It helps make the windows appear taller and gives the room a more finished look.
Sometimes it’s just a matter of figuring out what’s missing.
Whether it’s the right furniture, better lighting, or a few finishing touches, I’d love to help.
